Who We Are
Founded in 2012, Artism Creativity Center is a student-run, non-profit organization based in San Jose, California. Artism combines artistic techniques and autism training tactics to create a program that teaches and encourage children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to develop self expression, reading comprehension and communication skills through artistic training. Our volunteers, who have all had over 3.5 years of artistic experience, teach the students basic art skills and aid them in their artistic journeys. Today, Artism has 32 students and 20 volunteer teachers. Artism was officially registered as a non-profit organization in 2015 (EIN: 47-3064699). We are currently partnered with local art studios and instructors.
We at Artism strive to help students with autism use a unique form of communication to connect with the world, as well as help others better understand the thinking process of these children. We also serve to raise autism awareness in our communities.
